Pneumatic tube FLUOROPOLYMER FEP - Ethylene propylene fluore
FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene) tubing is a highly durable fluoropolymer.
It is intended for the most severe uses admissible by thermoplastic materials in terms of temperature and chemical attack.
Its transparency is suitable for applications requiring fluid control while providing optimum performance.
Their permissible service temperature ranges from –190°C to +200°C FEP tubes are calibrated.
They are also food grade and have an approval from the American Food and Drugs Administration (FDA approval).
FEP has mechanical, chemical and electrical properties virtually identical to those of PTFE, however its temperature resistance is limited to 200°C.
Table of working pressure ratios of fluoropolymer FEP tubes with regards to working temperature
T(°C) | +20° | 50° | 80° | 100° | 120° | 150° | 200¨° |
Pression (%) | 100% | 90% | 75% | 65% | 45% | 35% | 10% |
The values of working pressure ratios according to working temperatures indicated above represent only the average of the results obtained from burst pressures divided by a safety factor, given that these are variable according to tube diameter and wall thickness.
